by WALTER GUTHRIE ERWIN for a

Certificate of Naturalization as

a Subject of the British Empire.

I, WALTER GUTHRIE ERWIN, of No.30 Praya Last Victoria

in the Colony of Hong Kong, Ships' Officer do solemnly and

sincerely declare as follows :-

1. My full name is Walter Gutnrie Erwin and I reside, when

not actually at sea following my occupation as Ships'

Officer, at No, 30 Praya hast, Victoria aforesaid.

2. I was bon in the Town of Cedar Rapiūs in Iowa, one of

the United States of America sometime during the year 1888

and I am anü always have been up to the date hereof of

American Nationality.

I am not and never have been married.

4.

My parents both of whom are dead, died during my early

infancy and I was brought up and educated in an orphan Home

at Cedar Rapiùs. I have no recorús dealing with my parents

and I am, therefore, unable to give any particulars as to

eitner of them.

5. I have resided within His Britamic majesty's Dominions

at Victoria in the Colony of Hong Kong aforesaid subject to

the qualifications contained in the next paragraph of this

my declaration since the 19th February 1916.

During that time I have regularly pursued my occupation

as snips' officer on board one or other of the Steamships

owned and operated by messieurs Douglas Lapraik and Company
